Oh Ben, you have such an incredible eye for composition. I bought my first DSLR recently and you continue to be a great source of inspiration for me.

Really looking forward to more blog posts, and maybe a catch up soon to help out with resolution number two! Happy New Year xxReplyCancel

    Hi Ben,
What a pleasure to read such an eloquent blog post. Many photographers, alas, are not so gifted when it comes to the written word! I just wanted to comment on a few of your points. Firstly, work-life balance. It’s so easy to say yes to every job offer and overfill the diary, particularly since bookings are often made so far in advance. I’m sure those of us filled with passion and enthusiasm for our work are guilty of overestimating what we’re capable of. To try and mitigate against this I’ve started colour-coding entries in my diary (clearly OCD) in order to guarantee days-off (which can be moved according to work, but at least it ensures I get some!) Second point – frequency of blogging. I think this is one of the first tasks that we all drop when the workload ramps up. I too have been investigating plugins to try and automate the more tedious aspects of the job (I use Lightroom in conjunction with Blogger). As you say, the actual writing is the fun bit!
I shall be following your progress throughout the year Ben. First wedding of 2011 for me on Saturday!
    All the best,
    David
PS Love the shots from Umbria – Good friends, a glass of wine and a beautiful sunset – some of the greatest pleasures that life has to offer.ReplyCancel

The day we remember why we all love & cherish one another! …well I’m delighted to say that while I didn’t share it with a certain special valentine? …I got to share it with two beautiful friends – Chris & Ellie – who are happily married and run a lovely old pub called the Fluer […]
