A couple of weeks ago I met up with the lovely Mel & Alex, in the little village of Bramley, Surrey… which also happens to be where they live and the location of their forth coming wedding. When I arrived the weather couldn’t be more miserable, so we headed straight to the local village pub to see if the weather would clear up; while we discussed the wedding day timings and generally having a good old natter! The pub – The Jolly Farmer also had a great selection of local cask ales, which Alex kindly treated me to a couple of samples too – Cheers Alex!
After some time later we realised the weather hadn’t changed one bit – so we got the brolly’s, wrapped up the camera and braved the elements.
Nearing the end of the shoot, we arrived at the reception venue (the village hall) for me to have a look inside. When we got there the local charity jumble sale had just finished and was packing away. After explaining what we were doing there and giving them a quick hand to carry some of their left over jumble into the car, I felt we could utilise the stage that was there for a few further images that were a little bit more quirky and different. We didn’t have long as they were going to be locking the building soon, so I set up a quick off camera flash to one side on a stand and got a little bit creative… I just loved that red velvet curtain!
All in all – I felt we had a great & productive day… despite the miserable drizzley weather! ……and I’m really looking forward to seeing them both again soon for their forth coming wedding xx
