Mel & Alex – Pre-Shoot – Bramley, Surrey

A couple of weeks ago I met up with the lovely Mel & Alex, in the little village of Bramley, Surrey… which also happens to be where they live and the location of their forth coming wedding.  When I arrived the weather couldn’t be more miserable, so we headed straight to the local village pub to see if the weather would clear up; while we discussed the wedding day timings and generally having a good old natter!  The pub – The Jolly Farmer also had a great selection of local cask ales, which Alex kindly treated me to a couple of samples too – Cheers Alex!

After some time later we realised the weather hadn’t changed one bit – so we got the brolly’s, wrapped up the camera and braved the elements.

Nearing the end of the shoot, we arrived at the reception venue (the village hall) for me to have a look inside. When we got there the local charity jumble sale had just finished and was packing away. After explaining what we were doing there and giving them a quick hand to carry some of their left over jumble into the car, I felt we could utilise the stage that was there for a few further images that were a little bit more quirky and different. We didn’t have long as they were going to be locking the building soon, so I set up a quick off camera flash to one side on a stand and got a little bit creative… I just loved that red velvet curtain!

All in all – I felt we had a great & productive day… despite the miserable drizzley weather!  ……and I’m really looking forward to seeing them both again soon for their forth coming wedding xx

Hey Ben, this is a great set. I love their sense of style and willingness to not “fight” the weather. You clearly know how to make your clients feel at ease with the camera. Great work my friendReplyCancel

Great set! Cute couple… looks like you made the best out of some not so perfect weather which can be challenging. Sometimes you just have to roll with it and have some fun, which it looks like you have!ReplyCancel

I’ve said it before & I’ll say it again. I love it when a couple has a great sense of style like these 2. Doesn’t help that they look like models & seem like a blast to hang out with.ReplyCancel

Just returned from our honeymoon and am revisiting these wonderful pics. Such a fun shoot and I am now absolutely chomping at the bit to see the photos from the big day – particularly the ones under the blossom tree.

You are so incredibly talented, Ben, and an absolute pleasure to be around. We are both so lucky and grateful for the memories you have preserved for us xReplyCancel
