As promised – less words more photos! …I’ll try 😉
So here’s something a little different for you… a very happy & emotional fun filled Greek Orthodox Wedding… the ceremony was held at Saint Sophia’s Cathedral, in Bayswater London. The church is absolutely stunning, with beautiful intricate tilling and original gold leaf paintwork adorn the walls and ceiling… your eye is filled with wonderment and amazement as you’re drawn upwards to the centre piece that is the dome! …actually the floor is pretty something too – basically one massive large mosaic!! …if you’re ever in the area, I definitely recommend popping in and taking a butchers at it.
The day itself started with a big delay… as the previous christening hadn’t even begun when we arrived!! …so lots of guests were mingling outside waiting (luckily the weather was okay, a bit overcast but fine never the less) and the bride – (lovely & lively Michelle) …had to be on standby waiting round the corner!
The ceremony itself starts a bit different to the usual church and civil weddings… with the groom (Steve) meeting the bride outside, and then they walk in together – I kind of like that, it’s different – I like the conviction, it’s like saying lets do this – lets get married! yeah!
Anyway as you can see from the photos… once it got started it all went τέλειος* …with lots of smiles, fun & confetti throwing before jumping on the buses and taxi… heading to Knightsbridge for the wedding reception at the Berkeley Hotel.
Which you can see more of in Part 2!
* = Perfect! xx
[…] so here’s part 2, (part 1 at St Sophia’s) …of Michelle & Steve’s wedding… be warned it’s one long post – […]
