Rock My Wedding Real Brides Hen Do

A few weeks ago I got invited to shoot the Rock My Wedding Real Brides Hen Party…… organised by the lovely girls -  Shirley (one of the real brides) & Kim from the pink pumpkin ……held at the Swan at the Shakespeare Globe theatre, London, which is a great riverside wedding venue – with amazing views across the Thames to St Pauls Cathedral and the city. If it’s your wedding reception venue – then lucky you!…. because if it’s a lovely clear day (like we had) …you get the most amazing skies and sunsets from the balcony room at the swan.

It was a fun filled day – full of activities, from decorating funking letters to attempting to make wedding jewellery to trying on lots of dresses from Mamfii Bridal.

Also on hand to provide amazing barnets was Severin Hubert & his team from the Hepburn Collection and make-up & lashes from Mariam Jenson.

It was great to meet everyone… and I thoroughly enjoyed myself.

As the fabulous Charlotte over at Rock My Wedding has posted her feature of the day now… I won’t re-post too many pics, but if you’re interested in seeing more – then the slide-show is at the bottom.

Big Love & Hugs to all the girls …..wishing you all the best for your forthcoming weddings ….I’m sure they will all Rock! – and I look forward to seeing & reading about them over the coming year.

Below is a few extras I took with my Fuji x100 – totally forgot I bought it along…

It was great to also finally meet the main man at Rock My Wedding – Adam (above) at – and cheers mate for this little behind the scenes shot of me mid-action!!;)

Some cracking shots here Ben. Been following a little of what you do for a while, and from one photographer to another, enjoy it. Your work is somewhat different to my own, and I can see an energy in your photographs that flows through your style. I see you’re an X100 fan too. I have that body, haven’t yet used it I think to it’s full advantage. I think I should take it out of the box more judging by your shots. All the best, Neale

Lauren & Nick – On Rock My Wedding!

I’m pleased to say that Lauren & Nick’s – fab & colourful wedding, held at the ‘uber’ cool venue of Fredericks Bar & Restaurant in Islington London… is today being featured on one of my favourite blogs – Rock My Wedding!:)

As Adam & Co over at RMW HQ… have done such a good job in posting lots of pics and Lauren has given her account of the day already…. I’m not going to gabble on like I usually do and post a squillion photos too, instead for a change I’m going to post their actual slide-show. (see below)

So without further ado, take a seat, turn the speakers up! (or perhaps put your headphones on if you’re at work?)

Take a few minutes out – as it’s the full unedited slide-show, that Lauren & Nick received! (Plus they choose the music – which is very touching, and suits it perfectly!)

Thanks again Lauren & Nick – you guys were fab, as was the day! xx

2011

I want to take this opportunity to thank all my lovely couples whole-heartedly – you’ve all been amazing in each & every unique way, and yes I’ve worked bloody hard – but equally had so much fun along the way!

Okay be warned it a mega long one – you know me by now, I’m rubbish in choosing!….. so get yourself a cuppa, and have a butchers!

Love, fun and a wee bit of sun at Murthly Castle, Scotland

Okay so get ready for quite a mega long one… but I promise it will be worth it!

Jenny & Steve’s glorious wedding was held in the stunning setting of Murthly Estate Castle & Chapel.

I won’t write loads like I normally do, and instead give a few comments throughout the wedding photos… I suppose a bit like a running commentary!

So without further ado straight onto the photos…

Pizza for a long day ahead… ummm yummy!

224,934 people (men!)… watching youtube on the morning of their wedding day!

I thought I looked okay?!

The Murthly estate chapel was stunning from the inside, dated from the 16th century and later rebuilt in 1845. Interesting fact #1 – It was the first catholic place of worship in Scotland to be dedicated after the reformation, and includes a mural depicting the conversion of Constantine. Though it was seriously dark inside… so it was prime lenses only for this ceremony.

I promise there’s nothing wrong with my white balance editing… the chapel at the back had some crazy coloured stain glass windows… creating a warm pool of purple light on the registry table.

To say Steve was a bit pleased would be a slight understatement!

…actually Jenny looks pretty happy too:)

Interesting fact #2 – the yew trees along the drive to the Chapel are over 500 years old!!

Jenny & Steve… got seriously lucky with the weather, considering it was Scotland in September!… and just as we did their portraits, the sun was low in the sky and popped it’s head through the clouds and we enjoyed some glorious afternoon sunshine.

Could a bride look anymore happier!… just have a look at that smile again, no fakes here, 100% genuine smile – guaranteed.

Jenny & Steve live in Miami… hence the flip-flops for poor soles who were wearing high heels… thankfully I left mine at home this time;)

You can’t beat a bit of hand waving in the air love.

They had a cali dance – which are always very fun…

…though this move wasn’t compulsory in the cali! …I’m sure my dad used to do this to me when I was a kid

Then it went crazy…

…even the robot dance made an appearance!

Ending with a brilliant full moon – wow what a wedding! …thank you so much for letting me be a part of your amazing day xx
