Valentines…

The day we remember why we all love & cherish one another! …well I’m delighted to say that while I didn’t share it with a certain special valentine? …I got to share it with two beautiful friends – Chris & Ellie – who are happily married and run a lovely old pub called the Fluer de Lys in the village of Widdington, North Essex. I hadn’t seen them for a while, so it was great catching up by their big warm log fire and drinking some tasty real ale. I highly recommend it, not only is the food fabulous, cooked by their great head chef – but you couldn’t meet a lovelier couple (okay so I might be a bit biased) but it’s definitely worth a visit especially for their Sunday roasts! So if you’re ever over that way – (not too far from Stansted) – then you should check it out!

Okay so keeping with the Valentines vibe… here’s an absolute heartfelt song that I’ve been listening to since late last year on the soul internet radio station’s… a remix of the legendary Marvin Gaye – “Ain’t that peculiar” with Kool & The Gang’s – “Summer Madness”   – produced by Soulpersona and Neil Tomo – unfortunately it’s not been released as yet! (hence the DJ at the end of the track – the one and only – Robbie Vincent)

Personally I reckon it’s better than the original Marvin track?… It’s been slowed down compared to the original and gels perfectly with the tempo of summer madness, leaving a smooth mellow tone to it, yet at the same time you can really feel the pain and emotion in Marvin Gaye’s soulful word’s…”But each hurt – makes my love stronger – stronger than before” …is truly sublime writing – masterful work – what do you all think better than the original?
